Tyler had a very traumatic 2 week check up with his doctor. We were advised to do his circumcision at the 2 week appointment because of his time in the NICU. So that is what we did. However, as the doctor started the procedure, he discovered that Tyler is hypospadias, meaning that the urinary hole is not in the position it should be in. As a result, Tyler will have to have his circumcision done by a urologist a few months down the road. Since the doctor had started the procedure, he had to put stitches in which ended up taking longer than the actual procedure would have been. 1 hour later, I left the doctors office emotionally drained and Tyler left physically drained. He was pretty much unresponsive the rest of the night.
On top of all of that, he hasn't been gaining weight like he should be, so we are now working with a lactation specialist in order to get him to feed a little bit better. He did grow over an inch in the first two weeks though.
On a happier note, he is finally sleeping in his crib at night which is giving us all a better nights rest.
We just love this little guy and we are enjoying him so much. Alyssa has been such a big help with him, always willing to walk him and hold him.

More Pictures
I had my friend come over and take some pictures of Tyler this week. We got a few good pictures of him. He was wide awake and very good for about 15 minutes and then he was done.
They aren't by any means professional, but they are better pictures then I could take on my phone.

Introducing Our Newest Addition
I know that this is a few weeks late, but I've been having technical difficulties with Blogger again and it has taken me this long to figure out how to post pictures.
Tyler Daniel Wheeler was born on June 1st, weighing 8 lbs 9 oz and measuring 20 inches long. I made it to my scheduled C-section and the surgery and recovery both went well. I had to laugh at how every nurse that came into the room commented about how amazing I was doing(but then again, maybe they tell everyone that). Tyler ended up in the NICU after only a few hours because the doctors were concerned with low oxygen levels and a high white blood cell count. They started him on antibiotics and he had all kinds of wires hooked up to him. The worst part about it is that Alyssa and Ashley weren't able to see him until Sunday afternoon(and we just got lucky with that because every other Sunday they have visiting hours at the NICU). It was also difficult for me to get out of bed and get down there to feed him often enough. We were so happy that everything turned out to be fine and he was able to come back to our room on the last day. We left the hospital on the 4th and have been enjoying our little one.
