Tyler's 7th Birthday

On June 1st, we celebrated Tyler's 7th birthday. Things were starting to open up again here in Utah after the COVID-19 quarantine period, so we spent a couple of hours that afternoon at the Provo Rec Center outdoor pool. We were able to mostly keep our distance from people except in the waterslide line. Unfortunately, the outdoor waterslides are Tyler's favorite part about the swimming pool, so we just tried our best to keep our distance and faced away from people while we were in line.
For dinner that night, Tyler requested my homemade ribs. That is his favorite meal lately. After dinner, we had a scavenger hunt for his birthday gifts(he requested a scavenger hunt for his birthday after he saw the one we did for Camden).
After presents, we went over to Gawbie and Grandpa's to eat cake and ice cream and to have a hot tub and campfire night. Tyler requested a Magic Tree House cake and this is what Alyssa and I came up with. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and it ended up being too windy for a campfire. But we did, at least, have the chance to go in the hot tub for a little bit.
We love our Tyler boy. He is such a little sweetie. He still has a very quiet voice and it is hard to understand him when he is excited or upset. He loves school, but does not enjoy homework, especially anything involving writing. He enjoys swimming, running, and playing with his brother. When someone is hurt or upset, he is the first to offer comfort. He often amazes us during Come Follow Me discussions and FHE lessons with his insightful answers to questions. He is such a joy to have in our family.
