Beauty and the Beast

Ashley was in her school musical this spring. She was a spoon and a villager. She was so excited for her big part of bringing a dish out to Belle during "Be Our Guest." But it happened so quickly that I didn't really get a good picture of it.

She had to do a little bit of ballroom dancing during the song "Human Again." She did not love that, but she did okay.

These are a some of her best friends at school this year. From left to right: Kai Larsen, Josh Bundy, Sandra Urgiles, and Ashley.
The boys were my dates for the play and we had front row seats so they actually loved it and were not bored at all during the play.

I went again on Saturday afternoon. It was a last minute decision to go again, so my seat was in the back of the room. It gave me a different perspective. The play was pretty much the same, but there were a few mistakes on Saturday, so it wasn't as good as Friday night. But still very well done.

Easter

We had a nice Easter. I especially loved that we just had sacrament meeting that day. It gave us the opportunity to all go to church together at the YSA ward. And then to have the rest of the day together to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and to be with family.
We dyed eggs on Saturday. I boiled 28 eggs and they blew through them quickly. And then I was left to eat most of them on my own. We did use a bunch of them for deviled eggs for Easter dinner.

After sacrament meeting, the YSA's had a munch and mingle. We grabbed some food and then headed out to leave the tables and seats for the YSA's to mingle. Danny and Alyssa stuck around a little longer to help clean up. Since we had a little bit of time, We went over to the temple so I could get some pictures of Camden for his baptism invitation. The temple grounds were still pretty dead since it hadn't warmed up yet from winter temperatures.

We all got back to the house around the same time, so we made the kids pose for a picture in their Easter outfits. The girls got new dresses and the boys got new ties. Unfortunately, the ties were full size, so they were a little long.
And, of course, they wanted to include Lula.

We did an Easter egg hunt after heading inside. Ashley participated, mostly because she wanted the candy.

After the egg hunt, we did our annual easter lesson with the eggs and objects inside that represent events of the Saviors life during the last week. Then we had dinner with Gawbie and Grandpa.
It was a nice day together.

Lula's Haircut

We let Lula get really shaggy this time around. Mostly because we were waiting for a warmer day when Ashley had a break from school long enough to do the shave.
She looks so much better after she gets a hair cut.
We used to have groomers shave her about once a year, but we finally found a good clipper and have gotten a lot faster at it, so we do it ourselves now.

The Mario Movie

During Spring break I took the kids(except Alyssa) to the Mario movie. They got all decked out in their Mario clothing and brought some Mario friends along to watch with them.

 They loved the movie.

Snow Tubbing At Soldier Hollow

We Got to go snow tubing at Soldier Hollow with the YSA's in March. We had so much fun. Our family got split into two groups for the first run and we never met up again until the end. I was with Alyssa and Tyler.
It was fun to go down such a long sledding hill without the fear of running into something or hitting a bump or not being able to stop before hitting something at the bottom. The only downside was the lines. We had to wait in line for the conveyor belt to get up to the top (we could walk it, but it was super tiring to do that every time.) But there were also lines at the top to go down the hill. It would have been awesome if there were half as many people there for our 2 hour time slot. But other than that it was super fun.
I've wanted to snow tube at Soldier Hollow for years now. We even booked a session like 5 years ago, but they had to cancel on us because their conveyor belt wasn't working properly. I'm glad that we finally got to try it out. Next on my Utah bucket list is the Ice Castles in Midway.
