I don't have any pictures to post this week, but I wanted to post something so that all of our faithful readers don't get bored with us. We are doing well and still adjusting to our new surroundings. This has been especially hard for Alyssa who seemed to start her "terrible twos" when she turned three. We've had fun cleaning crayons, dry erase markers, and diaper cream off of the walls and furniture. It's also been fun trying to get her dressed every day, change her diaper, take a professional picture with her sister (we were unsuccessful on this one), go to the doctor for her yearly check-up, eat anything besides fruit snacks and sweets, and go to bed. She wants to be independent, but can't do a lot of things still and gets frustrated a lot. As a result, she takes a lot out on her poor little sister when our backs are turned. Don't get me wrong, she is very sweet and we love her to death, we just can't wait for this phase to pass.
We still haven't really made any friends which makes me miss all of my friends in Des Moines a lot for both my sake and Alyssa's. I've been keeping myself busy scrapbooking a lot and trying to figure out how to keep this huge house clean.
We did take the girls to Chuck E. Cheese's this week and they loved it, especially Alyssa. Ashley was amazed by all of the flashing lights and kids.
Sorry for the venting session, we really do love it here, we're just experiencing the normal feelings and experiences a move brings. Soon enough, this will feel like home to us.

You are right, adjusting is so hard for the little ones. We are having similar issues with Brynlee! We miss you guys, but we know you will be making friends and getting back in the swing of things soon!
Don't feel a bit guilty about needing to vent. I'm in the same boat. Our ward is so big and transient that people didn't even notice we were new until we weren't new anymore. (you know I'm still a hick at heart - this big city stuff is not for me!:)
But since I am not getting out of here anytime soon, I decided that I'm going to enjoy my time here as much as I can. This last week I started to make a list of things I love about AZ...I'm on number two... :)!
Things always get better with time, and until they do, you have lots of blogger friends!!! Hugs from AZ to you!!
It seemed like 3 was a harder age for Elizabeth than 2. I guess that's not so reassuring. :) Good luck getting settled!
You know, Laura, it is not difficult to make the case for Los Angeles! I've tried to get Danny to get on at the Staples Center or L.A. Convention Center so we could work down the street from each other! Between us, all of your family, and your friends who are still around, you would have a ton of friends and family near by! Think about it! ;-)
I totally understand having to get use to a new place. It seems if there's not a lot of people around your age no one gets together. That's one thing we've had to get use to out here. Give it to the spring too, people just seem to hunker down in the winter and don't get out as much. At least there's chuckee cheese though right??
we might be in a similar situation soon. I will tell you more if things progress. Hang in there....I am NOT looking forward to the terrible twos or the trying threes. Yikes.
