4th of July

On the Fourth of July, we were fortunate to be able to watch fireworks from the Terrace at the Convention Center. The Terrace is the perfect spot to watch the Stadium of Fire Fireworks show if you are not fortunate enough to be able to attend in the stadium(although our girls were scared of the fireworks in the stadium, so maybe it was even a better spot to watch, for us). Danny's brother(and family) got into town early in the day, so we went down to the Convention Center in the early afternoon and let the kids run around a little. The dads and the older kids played some soccer...
Danny set up the big screen and turned on a movie for the kids and brought out the popcorn machine.
Here is the view from the terrace-facing west.
And east
And north towards the stadium. The smoke is leftover from the first fireworks we saw.
We barbecued hamburgers and enjoyed an assortment of sides, including snow cones. Our group had about 16 people total. One of Danny's employees(and close friend) also took advantage of the terrace-their group had probably twice as much as ours. The weather was perfect that night, but it was nice being able to go inside when Tyler needed a break from the fresh air. There were lots of willing hands to take little Tyler, including this proud Grandpa.
It was a fun night and a great way to spend our 4th.
