I am so far behind on blogging that it has been a little overwhelming to try and sit down and catch up. I'm going to attempt to get caught up. The girls have been having a good school year so far. They both love their teachers and ended the first term with a 4.0 GPA. We got to attend Alyssa's 6th grade devotional last month and she did wonderfully with her part. She said that they each got to write their own speaking part for it and you could really see their testimonies come through as they shared stories and experiences.
Alyssa also had her big Egyptian Mask Celebration last week. I got to be there to help 72 6th graders plaster their faces to make their masks. It was a lot of work, but fun to be a part of. Here I am working on Alyssa's face. All she had was a little hole at her nose to breath through. She was nervous, but did great.
Alyssa also had her "Fiddler on the Roof" production last week. She did such a great job with the 4 scenes she was a part of. We had seats on the front row and that still didn't hold the boys(and even Ashley's) attention for the whole play. I had to leave with them at intermission and come back another night to see Alyssa's last scene. The play was well done, but we are so glad that it is over and that we will have Alyssa around more often.
Somehow, I ended up in charge of buying and making the food for our back to school Fall Festival. It was super stressful and a lot of work and I was so glad when it was over. Ashley enjoyed spending the evening with her best friend at school, Kaci. They got their faces painted like dogs and were so cute.
Tyler is having a good year of preschool. Somehow he ended up in a class with 11 boys and 1 girl and 9 of the kids in his class had birthdays in October. I don't know how it is so lopsided, but he is in the same class as a couple of boys in our Ward and seems to be enjoying his teacher and going to class.
He had a field trip to the fire station in September. They talked about fire safety and then looked at the fire trucks.
In October, they had a field trip to the pumpkin patch. They loved the big slide...
They got to pet some animals...
Climb on some tractors...
And play in some corn.
Danny had a mission reunion about a month ago that we were able to attend. He didn't know a lot of the missionaries there, but he had fun catching up with the few that he knew and he enjoyed seeing his Mission President and wife.
We took Casey to Dog Days in the Thanksgiving Point Gardens again this year. The kids always enjoy taking him to new places and letting him interact with other dogs. We went on a Monday night, so we waked through the Light of the World Statues and counted it for FHE.
